Beka asks: What would your horse change about you?

Rico is living the life right now. He's fat, he's living in pasture for the first time ever (hence that he is fat), he gets to be turned out with roommates for the first time ever, and he isn't getting ridden very much.

I think if Rico had control, he'd be pampered a bit more. Brushed more, trail ridden more, given more treats, allowed to have more grain, all of which while being allowed to graze on pasture constantly.

Before he was retired, Rico lived a pretty good life for an FEI horse. He got special shoes, special food, lived in a HUGE paddock, rode in arenas with excellent footing, and got two full days off a week. He only showed four times last year (an I1, an I2, and two Grand Prix's) and had weekly lessons but no trainer rides. Every day he got to walk down the road to see his cows and goats. Every day he got sugar with his bridle and cookies after his ride.

So in conclusion, Rico has no business asking me to change anything about myself now or back then!

Seriously he has no business, look at where I take him!

TC is living a pretty good life right now too. I think he honestly wouldn't change anything about me (except maybe the number of cookies/sugar cubes I bring to the barn each day) because he's just that kind of horse- very very attached to me and wants to make me happy all the time. He gets SO sad any time I imply that I'm a little annoyed with him.

So he'd probably like for me to come down more and pet/groom/feed him. He seems to love being ridden, but not as much as he loves attention on the ground. If he had his way, I'd stand in his pasture 24/7 with cookies and carrots and chase all the other horses off if they came over to him (because he's too much of a chicken to chase them off himself). I'd also pet him constantly and tell him how great he is.
