Not Feeling Good

TC isn't feeling great right now.

It started on Wednesday, I noticed he had a little booger in his nose. I didn't think anything of it, it's been like 30 degrees in the mornings, colder overnight. But as he worked, there were more boogers. He actually did a super gross thing while I was long lining him- he stuck his head straight up and stuck his tongue out to catch a booger. Dude. I know you're a six year old boy, but that's so gross. 

I realized too late that I needed to take his temperature, so I texted my barn manager when I got to work and he said that TC seemed fine and to just keep an eye on him. He apparently hadn't died while I was at work.

That night I went back to the barn and took his temperature. It was 101.2 degrees, which is a bit high. Though to be perfectly honest, I don't quite know his normal temperature. It was 43 degrees outside though. 

The next morning it was 100.4 degrees, which isn't a fever, but he was really boogery so when I got to work, I called the vet.

Friday the vet came out and listened to his breathing and knocked on his skull (empty, which is what I thought). She gave me some SMZs for him and said to give them to him for 5 days and take it easy on him until he was feeling better.

REGRETS REGRETS

So this weekend wasn't full of typical fun pony times. But I did get a TON of barn chores done, and TC and I did some ranch wandering. I cleaned all my tack, my boots, organized my whole tack room, organized my grain (which had been kind of randomly placed since I didn't have enough garbage cans for TC's new grain) and supplements (which I have too many of for my drawer).

I also hung out with Kate, Kate's new horse who is my student's horse, and my student whose horse it is! That's for another post because I'm dragging all this out.
